Great strides have been made to maintain and improve the Frog Road Camp facility in the last few years, but there is still much to do. One of the most glaring and practical needs of the camp is found in the mattresses that our campers and staff sleep on each summer. The mattresses currently in use are a mix of second mattresses, army surplus cots, and some the origins of which we’d rather not know! The most recent mattress upgrade a few years ago allowed us to replace some but not all of the oldest mattresses. This year, we are hoping to make a complete overhaul of all but the most recently purchased mattresses so that sleeping at Frog Road is not only comfortable but also healthy.
The success of this important goal depends upon you! We invite you to participate in our first ever “Adopt-a-Mattress” Campaign. You can donate individually or as groups to this cause, and every little bit helps. Having contacted area retailers, the best available price for a standard innerspring twin mattress is in the $70 price range. While we hope to be able to negotiate this down by buying in bulk for a non-profit group, we are using that price as our guide. Every $70 in donations received means one more old mattress goes to the dump and one new mattress can be purchased for our campers! How much can you help? $25? $50? An entire mattress for $70? Could you “adopt-a-bunk” for $140?
Make checks payable to “FROG ROAD CHRISTIAN CAMP” and mail them to:

Please indicate on the check that the funds are for the “Adopt a Mattress” Campaign. Any donations that are not earmarked are also welcome and will be put into the general fund that is used to operate the camp. We thank you for your support!

Special thanks goes to a group of volunteers who spent part of their Memorial Weekend at the camp. The grass is mowed. The canteen/sports equipment room is painted. The hot water tank for the girl’s dorm is now fully operational. The basketball court now has a new fence to keep balls from rolling down the hill. And last, but not least, Frog Rock Road’s famous “Croaky” has a fresh coat of paint to welcome new campers to Frog Road Christian Camp.

We would like to thank the Glenpool church of Christ for the work they volunteered on May 14. The entire campground was mowed and trimmed. The gazebo and amphitheater were repaired using a large amount of donated lumber. The canteen/sports room was cleaned and renovation in that room is underway. Possible poison ivy patches were sprayed and hopefully eradicated. Damaged trees and trimmed limbs were cut and burnt.
We thank God and our brethren for all their hard work.

Thanks to donations from the members Cleveland, Barnes, and 29th & Yale congregations as well as others, the girls’ dorm at Frog Road Christian Camp now has a tankless water heater. Replacing the 50 gallon tank that burnt out last summer, the new Rheem unit is the functional equivalent of a 200 gallon tank and produces 8.4 gallons of hot water per minute. A new 3/4″ PEX water line was installed to feed the unit which we will hope will guarantee hot showers for many summers to come.
Thanks to all those that donated funds or labor for this big improvement to the camp!
